When I am in nature, I get inspired to think and be more simple.
Simple in what I need, what I have, what I want, and in what I do.
I believe that simple is effective.
This morning, I was thinking a lot about how I can simplify.
I made a list of some goals and changes I want to try in the upcoming month.
I deleted the Facebook app off my iphone. No, not Facebook. Just the app. Believe it or not, I can still check on it the old-fashioned way!
I was beginning to realize how much time I just mindlessly browse through it during the day, without even thinking about it.
I don't want to be a person, a wife, a friend, a family member, a mother someday, that always has my iphone in one hand, keeping up on those Facebook happenings throughout the day.
I want to be present in my surroundings and to the people I'm with.
I personally felt like getting rid of the app was the best thing to do right now.
Then, when I'm home and have some time to go on the computer, I can check up on it. Maybe once or twice a day... who knows. We'll see.
What I do know is that the amount of time I've been checking it throughout the day recently is not what I want to be doing.
Yes, I love social media, don't get me wrong. But I was starting to feel like Facebook was creeping up on becoming a big waste of my time throughout the day.
So, for the next month, that's the plan. No Facebook app on the phone.
That is one way I am going to simplify.
I need to go back to the days before the phone and social media craze, when I'd have a book in my car or purse. If I was early for an appointment or meeting, instead of checking all the status updates, I would read a chapter of my book... or talk to people around me. :)
How about you?
What do you do to help keep things simple...
to remember the little things and to stay present in the moment?
The trees already look so beautiful!
Have a relaxing evening.
Thanks for stopping by.
